Where are you located?
We live in Kalmar County, Eriksmåla.
What insurance will the puppy have at the time of transfer, and can I take it over?
The puppy will have Hidden Defects insurance covered by the breeder (this applies in all countries), along with a veterinary care insurance policy with Sveland, which you will need to take over. Alternatively, you can choose to insure the puppy with a different provider from the day you pick it up if you wish to buy the puppy from us. An exception applies if the puppy is moving to Finland or Norway, due to previous negative experiences. Sometimes, buyers did not insure the puppy, and due to high veterinary costs, the puppy was not given the necessary care. We do not want this to happen again, so thank you for your understanding!
What documents will my puppy have?
At the time of the puppy transfer, you will receive a vaccination certificate, a 12-point veterinary health certificate, the purchase contract, insurance details, registration papers from the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and a pedigree. If the puppy is moving to Norway or Finland, it will also receive a passport.
What vaccinations and other treatments will the puppy receive before the transfer day?
The puppies receive their first vaccination with us, are dewormed four times, and are microchipped by a veterinarian. We regularly clip their nails, bathe, and brush them so they become accustomed to these routines. They also receive their first basic grooming.
At what age is the puppy ready for transfer?
Puppies can leave at the earliest between 8-9 weeks of age, sometimes at 10 weeks. This depends on several factors, including the size of the litter. For each litter, I assess the best time for them to move to ensure they get the best possible start in life.
Will I receive information on what to buy and prepare before picking up the puppy?
Absolutely. Once the deposit is paid, we automatically send thorough information to all owners. This includes advice on topics such as food, grooming, car transport, deworming, vaccinations, insurance, house training, heat cycles, neutering, and much more. There’s a lot to go through, but rest assured, we will provide you with lots of helpful advice.
Will I receive any items with the puppy, or do I need to buy everything myself?
Each puppy comes with a starter kit from us, which includes the following: food, a puppy pad, a harness, a leash, a collar, a brush, a nail clipper, a dog bed, a blanket and a toy with a scent from home, a toothbrush, poop bags, and a few small items.
How much does a puppy cost from you?
Havapoo puppies cost 25,000 SEK. Bichon Havanais puppies cost 20,000–23,000 SEK.
What are the main differences between males and females of this breed?
The simplest answer is that it doesn’t make much difference. If you already have a female, another female might be easier, and the same applies if you have a male. In my experience, behavioral differences are often due more to individual personalities and litters than to gender. It’s often hard to generalize because each dog has its own personality, regardless of gender. The main differences between males and females are usually physical. For example, females can get uterine infections during heat cycles, while males can be strongly affected by females in heat. Many of these health issues can be managed through neutering.
Can we be sure that the dogs are in good hands with you?
Dogs are the most important part of my life. My mother has been a recognized Havanese breeder since 1995, and as I was born in 1996, I can say that I have grown up in this environment. I am very grateful for everything I have learned from my mother and her breeder friends. The knowledge I received from her is a gift that other breeders often acquire through their own experiences over many years. I began working full-time as a breeder in 2016 after finishing my studies. I also completed a one year dog breeding course to further enhance my breeding knowledge. My entire life revolves around the dogs, and I do everything humanly possible for their well-being.
What type of grooming does the Havapoo require?
The grooming needs of a Havapoo require attention to keep its coat looking nice and healthy. Since this breed is hypoallergenic, it has a curly or wavy coat that doesn’t shed but is prone to matting and tangling. Therefore, regular grooming is important and can be easily done at home. It’s also essential to get the puppy used to brushing early. We start this training while they are still with us. As Havapoo is a mixed breed, it’s challenging to predict exactly how their coat will look until after they shed their puppy coat, which usually occurs around 6 months of age. During this period, their coat may become extra tangled for a few weeks, so daily brushing and using a dematting tool are recommended. I usually suggest visiting a groomer during this time, as they can provide advice specific to your puppy’s coat. It’s also best to get them accustomed to grooming visits early, so a first trim can be done as early as 3-4 months.
Daily Care: It’s recommended to brush their coat a few times a week, especially on more vulnerable areas like the armpits, around the ears, and the stomach.
Bathing and Drying: Havapoos are usually bathed every 3-4 weeks to keep their coat clean and soft. After bathing, it’s essential to dry their coat thoroughly to prevent matting.
Trimming: Trimming is recommended to make grooming easier, at least every 3-4 months.
Ear and Nail Care: Since they may have longer hair in their ears, this should be cleaned regularly, and excess hair should be removed (this doesn’t apply to all dogs, but it’s good to be aware). Nails should also be trimmed regularly, as long nails can cause discomfort for the dog.
Around the Eyes: In rare cases, discoloration can occur around the eyes. As a breeder, I try to consider this in my breeding work and avoid it, but even with careful breeding, it’s challenging to eliminate completely, as it’s common in both parent breeds and can appear from more distant ancestry. If your Havapoo has discoloration around the eyes, it’s recommended to trim the hair around the eyes and wipe the area with a damp cloth once a day.
Regular grooming is not only aesthetic but also important for their health, as it keeps the Havapoo’s coat and skin healthy and comfortable. Overall, their coat is not difficult to maintain, but it does require some attention.
Can we request a specific color and gender?
Of course, you have the option to choose both color and gender, as we want everyone to find the perfect puppy for themselves. But if you have specific preferences regarding color, it may take longer to find a puppy that suits you.
How available are you as a breeder for support and questions throughout the dog’s life?
We’re available as long as there’s a need, just reach out! We offer support and advice throughout the dog’s lifetime.

In this case, the puppy will need a passport, an additional deworming recorded in the passport by a veterinarian, and a certificate confirming the puppy has not been exposed to the risk of rabies. Rabies vaccination is not required if the puppy is younger than 12 weeks. We take care of all of this.
Are there additional costs when purchasing a puppy from you if we live in Finland or Norway?
If the puppy is moving to Norway or Finland, it will need a passport and a recorded deworming. This costs approximately 1000 SEK. Rabies vaccination is not required for puppies under 12 weeks of age.
At what age is the puppy separated from its mother?
We let the mother’s instincts guide the weaning process. We do not interfere with this natural process, which ensures the puppies receive extended maternal care.
Pedigree for designer dogs (mixed breed)? How is this possible, and why is it beneficial?
There are several organizations worldwide where breeders can register their puppies, even if they are not purebred. Just like with purebreds, the puppies’ family trees and breed names are recorded, in this case, as a Havapoo. I believe this is important to avoid inbreeding, and it’s also helpful to have proof of the breed(s) of your dog. An unregistered dog could be any mix without documentation.
I would like to visit. When is the best time to come?
Many people want to visit. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate everyone, as we also have other commitments with work and family life. However, we welcome anyone who has reserved a puppy or is considering doing so, and puppy buyers are invited to visit when the puppies are six weeks old.
How and how much should we pay as a deposit if we decide we want a puppy from you?
The deposit is 3,000 SEK. If you would like to reserve a puppy, whether born or unborn, please contact us first, and we’ll send all the information via email.
What is the current waiting list time to get a puppy from you?
It’s hard to answer that question, as it’s a constantly changing factor and depends on the season. The best approach is to contact us, and we can give an exact answer.
Is transport possible?
Yes, we can usually assist with puppy transport at fuel cost. We often drive puppies to locations such as Arlanda, Malmö, or Gothenburg, for example. Please always discuss this with us, as there may be times when we cannot personally travel.
Payment
Payment is possible via Swish or bank transfer. For bank transfers, we do not accept payment at pickup. In this case, the transfer must be made a few days before pickup. The entire purchase price must be paid by the owner before transfer. For future puppy owners from Norway and Finland, cash payment in euros is possible.
What food do the puppies eat, and what do you recommend for adults?
The puppies eat Royal Canin Mini Puppy. I sometimes mix this with Royal Canin Mini Wet Food until they are 4 months old. After 10 months, my dogs eat "Adult Single Meat – Duck with Lavender Blossoms" or "Acana Grass-Fed Lamb." I am very satisfied with all three foods. I have tried many brands, but I find these to be the absolute best.
How do you socialize the puppies before they move to their new homes?
We place great importance on socializing the puppies from an early age. They grow up in an environment where they interact daily with both people and other dogs. We expose them to different sounds, environments, and toys to help them feel secure and confident in new situations. They also receive regular visits from guests to get accustomed to various types of people.
How do you handle house training for the puppies?
We start house training very early. They get used to relieving themselves outdoors, and we train them to use training pads indoors. This gives the buyer a good head start on continued house training.
How long can the puppy be left alone?
The puppy should not be left alone at all initially, but you can gradually start training by leaving it alone for a few minutes at a time. A well-trained and confident adult dog can be left alone for a few hours, but only after having been properly exercised.
Can we follow the puppy’s development before taking it home?
Yes, you have the opportunity to follow the puppy’s development from birth to transfer, with updated pictures and videos taken every 1-2 weeks. You are also welcome to visit when the puppies are around six weeks old.
Can we change the puppy if we have second thoughts after choosing one?
It’s uncommon to exchange puppies. If you have any doubts about your choice, we would love to discuss it with you and see if we can find a solution. However, it’s important to make a thoughtful and well-considered decision about the puppy.
How much exercise does the puppy need when it’s young?
Puppies need regular exercise to develop physically and mentally, but it’s important not to overdo it. Short walks and plenty of play are ideal for young puppies. As they get older, you can gradually increase exercise, but it’s crucial to let their joints and muscles develop at their own pace.
What if I can no longer care for the puppy?
We always want our puppies to have safe and loving homes. If you find yourself in a situation where you can no longer care for your dog, we ask that you contact us first. We are happy to help find a new home for the dog, ensuring it ends up in a good environment.
How do you prepare the puppies for new situations like travel, sounds, and meeting other animals?
We ensure that the puppies are exposed to various types of sounds, such as vacuums, doorbells, and traffic, to make them less skittish with everyday noises. They also become accustomed to car rides and meeting other animals, which makes them more confident and better prepared for life in a new home.
When you’re in contact with animal hospitals, remember...
You are in control! You know your dog best! The dog is best at home as soon as it is possible for it to return home.
